Personal Bio:
Although my formal education is not swimming related: BA Fine Arts, BA Applied Arts and MA in Education, I have over 22 years of experience and passion for swimming. I have been swimming for as long as I can remember and teaching swimming was my first job at the age of 16. I was trained by the American Red Cross and the YMCA. In addition, I have about 14 years of experience coaching youth swim team and personal experience with masters swim programs. Swimming for me is like teaching a child to read…it is not a race, it is a journey. I love working at the gym because it is just another way to teach and help someone else learn. All it takes is time, practice, courage, and lots of patience.
Interests/Hobbies:
In addition to spending time with my family, I love to mountain bike, ski, read, scrapbook, and my newest hobby is snowshoeing.
Quote/Words of Wisdom:
“You are never too old to learn to swim and nobody will ever love the way they look in a swim suit… that’s why you learn to swim under the water or really fast!”
